Hypopressive Training®

Hypopressive Training is a system of postural and breathing exercises designed to rehabilitate the function of your core and pelvic floor.

Unique postures together with specialized breathing techniques can improve automatic activation in the abdominal/pelvic area, providing right amount of pressure during exercise and loads.

This is a method that can improve issues such as: pelvic pain/spasms, incontinence, rectus diastasis, pelvic organ prolaps, abdominal hernias, backpain and posture.

Hypopressive Exercises are usually performed 10-15 minutes a day 4-5 times a week to achieve good results. Results are usually noticed within 6-12 weeks, sometimes longer depending on the case. Moblisation and relaxation techniques can be combined for synergistic effects.

Hypopressives are often referred to as “basic exercises”, priming the body for other types of exercise, such as lifting, running, jumping, CrossFit, sports etc. Hypopressive exercises counteract the straining pressure forces from heavy exercise/physical activity.

The exercises are done without any equipment and somwhat resemble yoga or pilates. Exercises can be moderated to fit different levels of ability. Proper guidance from a certified instructor is critical to ensure proper activation and progress. Only health care profesionals and body workers can become instructors. In Norway the certification is regulated through Hypopressiv Trening Norge.

Andreas Dønåsen (Level 3)

Andreas has 10 years experience in the field of physiotherapy and holistic health. He holds courses and public talks on a regular basis. Due to back/pelvic floor pain he started training Hypopressives 5 years ago. He is now a certified instructor with the highest level (3) and a PRO Trener throught Hypopressiv Trening Norge®.

My story

During my physio-education in the Netherlands I became acutely ill. My digestion failed and I lost all my energy and apetite as well as 10 kg. Constipation, diarrhea, pain, fever, fatique, headaches and insomnia became the new normal.

Houndreds of hours of studies in books, articles, podcasts and documentaries made me realize what holistic health means and how to get on the path to recovery.

Today I work with clients on a daily basis, offering physiotherapy and an holistic approach to health throught whole foods, functional tests and lifestyle advise.
